Locust alternatives

9 other tools do this job. Which one is right depends on why Locust is not working for you — so start from the reason, not the list.

Why teams leave Locust

  • Python's per-user overhead is higher than k6 or Gatling; big loads need more machines.
  • Reporting is basic — plan on exporting to Grafana.
  • HTTP-centric; other protocols require writing your own client.

Worth saying: Locust is genuinely strong at this — test scenarios are plain python, so any logic is expressible without workarounds. If that is the part you rely on, switching may cost more than it saves.

If cost is the problem

Cheaper than Locust at the entry point, or free outright.

If nobody on the team writes code

Locust expects code; these do not.
